Tour Highlights
• Pickup from Bandaranaike International Airport and proceed to Kandy. • On the way visit the Pinnawala elephant orphanage.
• After breakfast go on a walk to see the Western Shrines that are nearly 700 years old. • You will be visiting Gadaladeniya Rock Temple, Lankathilake Blue Temple and Embekke Wooden Temple while taking trough beautiful scenery.
After early breakfast a visit to the Knuckles mountain range. The Knuckles Range consists of the Knuckles massif, the Knuckles range and the Knuckles peaks. There are 35 peaks rising to more than 3000 feet (915 m) in the Knuckles range. Overnight in the mountain cottage tucked away in a remote village.
Trek from Corbett’s Gap to Meemure, Yakagala (Devil’s Rock), Nitre Cave in Knuckle’s mountain range this ‘hard’ trek of about 8-9 hours, will take the whole day. Return to the hotel for overnight stay.
After breakfast leave to Mahiyanganaya. On the way pass the precipitous 18 hairpin bends, and the beautifully terraced paddy fields of Minipe. In Mahiyanganaya you will get the opportunity to visit Sri Lanka’s indigenous inhabitants, the Veddas or Wanniyela Aettho (‘forest-dwellers’) as they call themselves. Also visit the Mahiyanganaya dagaba, one of the classic Buddhist shrines in Sri Lanka. Overnight in Mahiyanganaya.
After breakfast leave to Ella through Badulla. Drive through scenic remote countryside passing beautiful paddy fields, lakes, reservoirs and mountain passes. Overnight at Ella
An early morning hike to the Ella rock. After lunch visit the famous 9 arch bridge. Overnight at Ella.
After breakfast leave to Udawalawe for a Jeep safari. After the Jeep safari proceed to Deniyaya for overnight stay.
An early morning walk through the forest of Sinharaja. Then proceed to Bentota for overnight stay.
Relax in the beach.
After breakfast leave to Colombo. On the way visit the Galle fort. Overnight at Colombo
After early breakfast leave to Kitulgala for a session of white water rafting and waterfall climbing. Return to the hotel in Colombo for overnight stay.
